Every year, the Stiftung Buchkunst<\/a> awards prizes to the 25 most beautiful German books in various categories, taking certain criteria into account. These 25 have now been determined. Included is also a book from the BELTZ publishing house from our production. The title “Where does our food come from?” was nominated for the category “Children’s books, books for young people.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The 25 selected books are exemplary in terms of design, concept and workmanship and demonstrate a wide range of creative and manufacturing possibilities. Two expert juries had previously spent seven days discussing the novelties submitted.<\/p>\n\n

Where does our food come from?<\/h2>\n\n

This cover title by Julia D\u00fcrr can be read as a flat large format. A casual child reaching into the fridge – as a pictorial answer to the profound title question.<\/p>\n\n

A comprehensive book about the most important raw material in the world: water! With a wide range of topics, beautiful illustrations and pictorial explanations suitable for children, this non-fiction book about water was very convincing! This thread-sewn ribbon was printed on 100% recyclable paper and with a mineral oil-free printing ink.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 “The Wondrous Twelve<\/a>” by Rae Mariz<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detailed paintings portray the animals in their natural environment. The mysterious cover image derives its magic from the combination of illustration art and printing art. Twelve thread-stitched double pages made of matt, cardboard-thick paper present the most peculiar mammals. Juicy green endpapers convey the content.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Finn-Ole Heinrich<\/a> offers a literary birth preparation course for fathers-to-be in “<\/strong>Die Reise zum Mittelpunkt des Waldes“,<\/strong> at least at first glance. This title, hand-lettered, is embossed into the extremely thick cardboard cover. This robber novel is a thread-stitched, non-genuine stiff brochure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

This year’s award ceremony<\/h2>\n\n

The 10,000 euro prize from the Stiftung Buchkunst<\/strong> will be announced at an award ceremony on September 3, 2021. This is selected by a third jury from the 25 most beautiful German books.
