Referenz Berenberg Verlag 7

Berenberg Verlag stands for a carefully curated program beyond the mainstream. Since its foundation, the independent publishing house based in Berlin has established a firm place for itself in the literary book market. The spectrum ranges from essays and narrative literature to unusual historical topics. The publishing house combines depth of content with an unmistakable creative approach.

Beltz Grafische Betriebe in Bad Langensalza has been a production partner of Berenberg Verlag for many years. During this time, numerous titles have been produced that are characterized by precise workmanship and high-quality materials. Both half-linen volumes with thread stitching and perfect-bound paperbacks have been used – each tailored to the respective project. This collaboration shows how sophisticated content can be given a coherent design through appropriate production.

Berenberg Verlag – independence, quality, profile

Berenberg Verlag was founded in 2004 and has since established itself as a permanent fixture among independent publishers. The program is clearly focused, literarily sophisticated and characterized by carefully selected translations, historical themes and essayistic literature. Many of the titles deal with unusual subjects that are characterized by linguistic precision and independent content.

In addition to the selection of content, the publisher attaches great importance to the external appearance of its books. Design, typesetting, paper and binding are not accessories, but part of the publishing concept. This is precisely where the collaboration with Beltz Grafische Betriebe comes in. Over the years, numerous books have been produced that are convincing in terms of content and appearance. The ongoing collaboration is based on a mutual understanding of quality, reliability and design standards.

Diverse book productions for a sophisticated publishing house

The spectrum of jointly produced titles ranges from bibliophile half-linen volumes to high-quality paperbacks. For many titles from Berenberg Verlag, half-cloth bindings with thread stitching were realized. Characteristic of these are the embossed spines, which give the books a special feel and visual depth. One example of this is the title The Empress of Galápagos, in which the cloth spine, headband and printed cover were carefully coordinated.

Numerous paperbacks were also produced. These editions are characterized by their sturdy adhesive binding, restrained but effective cover design and precise workmanship. Here, too, the focus is on quality craftsmanship – regardless of the type of binding.

Each project was individually coordinated to meet the publisher’s design requirements. The close coordination between publishing, design and production ensures that each book is not only convincing in terms of content, but also in terms of form.
